Children’s Product Safety

Monthly Recall Digest

Children’s products are recalled at an alarming rate at over 100 per year, averaging more than twice a week. The likelihood of owning a recalled product is high, making it crucial to stay informed and check regularly.

Unfortunately, most manufacturers do little to alert consumers about recalls. Even when a product has caused severe injuries or deaths, companies often rely on press releases to announce recalls, rather than investing in widespread advertising. This limited communication means many families never hear about the dangers. For baby products, it’s estimated that only 10 to 30 percent of recalled items are ever recovered, leaving millions of hazardous products still in use - potentially by your family. One thing you can do to stay informed is to always register your products after you purchase.

By staying informed and taking action, we can protect our children and help ensure safer products for everyone.
